UPM Raflatac has earned multi-site certification to the first edition of the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System for its ten label stock production facilities

The certification complements UPM Raflatac’s existing certifications to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System standards. DNV, a global assurance and risk management company, awarded the certificate on March 9, 2021, after completing a combination of in-person and remote audits in UPM Raflatac facilities worldwide.

According to the company, maintaining quality, environmental, and safety ISO certifications is the floor for international manufacturers in today’s complex supply chains. The nature of global supply chains is making certification to ISO standards increasingly important. Customers want to know if a product will satisfy their quality requirements and want to know about a product’s environmental impacts and the conditions under which it was made.

‘Besides providing assurance of corporate responsibility to our customers, working under the ISO system framework for more than two decades has embedded the continuous improvement mindset within UPM Raflatac. The improvements our teams make in quality, environmental performance, and safety translate directly into value for our customers – which is always our ultimate aim,’ said Laura Cummings, director of health, safety, and environment at UPM Raflatac.
