CRP invests in new color management system
- Ink dispensing facility and laboratory features Rexson ColourPoint system, and cost around £75,000

- Represents second stage of 12-month investment program

European independent print and packaging group CRP Print & Packaging has made a large investment in a new ink dispensing facility and laboratory to maintain its color management standards.

The ink dispensing facility and laboratory at its facility in Northamptonshire is based around a Rexson ColourPoint system. The investment, totalling around £75,000, is part of the company’s 12-month investment program.

The facility and laboratory are linked to modern press-side color management tools to ensure brand consistency, CRP said.

CRP’s capabilities include structural and graphic design, manufacturing and printing, with products including litho, display, direct food contact and heavy-duty packaging. It also carries out liner pre-printing and coating.

The lab is specifically for the use of the pre-print operations, and will support the production of pre-printed corrugated liner.

Investment strategy
Further investments are expected in the near future, including web inspection and HD capabilities.

Chris Shaw, CRP’s pre-print business manager, said: ‘As the UK's only independent trade house and one of Europe's largest flexo pre-print liner operations, CRP has always been at the forefront of managing and meeting end-user quality expectations.

‘Color management is critical to the consistent on-shelf appearance of brand quality control and our latest investment demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that we deliver exceptional results every time.

‘The new ink dispensing facility and laboratory represent part of an on-going roll out of improvements within our business, intended to raise the quality and service of our offering to customers.

‘With the introduction of a seven-day working pattern in July to sustain an increase in capacity, we will continue to make further investments to support the highest industry standards of quality management throughout the year.’
