Abbott Label has invested in a Vectra ECTR 4 spindle turret rewinder from A B Graphic International (ABG) to increase workflow efficiencies and reduce lead times.

Established in 2001, Abbott Label operates four strategically located manufacturing facilities based in Dallas, Georgia, California and Illinois. The company runs a digital print production center alongside its head office at its 100,000 sqft Dallas facility operating an HP Indigo WS6900 and a Domino N610i. Additional production capabilities at its other sites include running Mark Andy flexo presses, up to 20in wide and up to eight colors.

The new Vectra ECTR 17in (440mm) supplied to Abbott Label can run at a top speed of 150m/min (490 ft/min), thereby helping the company to increase workflow efficiencies and reduce lead times. It is also fully upgradable with a wide range of options, including automatic core loading, finished roll closure with print and apply label application, and ABG’s fleyeVision 100 percent camera inspection system.

‘As we are always looking for ways to strengthen our service offering, the turret rewinder is a sound investment,’ commented John Abbott, managing director at Abbott Labels. ‘ABG has been great to work with, a family-run company that shares many of our values, including strong customer service ethics. Abbott Label prides itself in selecting only the best vendors to partner with.’

‘We are delighted to supply Abbott Label with hopefully the first of many items of ABG finishing equipment. We fully share their drive and commitment to always delight the customer and we look forward to following their progress in the future,’ added Matt Burton, ABG’s global sales director.
