allflex Folienveredelung adds Bobst CL 850D
Germany’s allflex Folienveredelung has installed a Bobst CL 850D multi-technology laminator as it looks to broaden its activities in the production of aluminum laminates for the food packaging industry and the confectionery market.

allflex Folienveredelung produces flexible packaging and self-adhesive labels, and prints with an 11-color Biva gravure press and an HP Indigo ws4500 digital press.
Last year allflex Folienveredelung became part of the Bagel Packaging Group, which manufactures flexible packaging and labels with production plants in Germany and Scandinavia.
The Bobst CL 850D has a web width of 53in (1,350mm) with an operating speed of 1,476ft/min and a splice speed of 1,410ft/min.
The CL 850D installed in the allflex Folienveredelung production plant is equipped with three different coating systems facilitated by interchangeable trolleys. In addition to the gravure trolley, the allflex Folienveredelung laminator comes with a dedicated trolley for solventless lamination and a flexo trolley, which is particularly well suited for coating solvent-based adhesives directly onto thin aluminum foil.
Furthermore, a Registron module offers the possibility of printing with in-setter on a pre-printed substrate.
The new installation provides allflex Folienveredelung with the increased capacity that is necessary to support the company’s growth.
Using the Bobst CL 850D has also allowed allflex Folienveredelung to reduce the number of shifts per day from three to two.
allflex Folienveredelung managing director Frank Heling said: ‘The innovative technology of the Bobst CL 850D makes the machine suitable for all types of lamination. Therefore, we are confident that we are now well equipped to satisfy the current and future requirements of our customers. All possibilities are now open to us.’
