Cypress Multigraphics augments digital print capabilities

Cypress Multigraphics, headquarters in Tinley Park, Illinois, manufacturers products for label and product identification applications. Its capabilities including flexo, digital and screen printing, and hot stamping. The Brooklyn Center facility specializes in sheet-fed screen and digital printing of durable nameplates and labels. The company has steadily added more digital capabilities in recent years with the addition of several Roland Ecosolve roll printers and stand-alone plotter/cutters.

While this has served its primary customer base quite well, Cypress Multigraphics identified the need for an expansion of technology to fill more markets and allow for more substrate possibilities.

The investment in the JFX-500 is said to open up a wide range of new material options, while offering added value of printing on rigid materials up to 2in thick. Interchangeable modules on the Zund G3 will also allow Cypress to covert thicker materials for a wider product offering. The G3 allows for printing CMYK files directly onto substrates and eliminates the intricate 4-color process on the screen equipment.
