Jet Technologies sells second Screen flexo CtP in Australia in as many weeks
South Australian specialty label printer Signature Labels has ordered a Screen PlateRite FX870 II flexo CtP at PacPrint 2013, which will be delivered by its distributor Jet Technologies.
Signature Labels is a family-owned label printer that produces high-quality labels for wine, food, cosmetics and non-alcoholic beverage applications.
The PlateRite FX870 II is capable of imaging up to four sq m of photopolymer plates per hour at a maximum image area of 850 x 735mm. It can also image letterpress plates at higher speed and at superb quality.
Signature Labels mostly uses letterpress plates. Eliminating film and its associated chemistry is a greener approach and quality gains are also possible because the internal CtP drum imaging is in a dust-free environment.
Robert Malliotis, Signature Labels director, said: ‘Our philosophy is simple: fine products should have fine labels, and we won’t compromise on quality.
‘Adding the Screen flexo/letterpress CtP will enable us to produce plates consistent with our standards day in and day out by just sending the design data to the rip.
‘We already achieve such consistency, but using analogue photopolymer plate making, which can take longer.’
This is the second Screen PlateRite FX870 sold by Jet Technologies in as many weeks; with the show machine due to be installed at Dragon Print, Sydney immediately after PacPrint.
Screen Australia managing director Peter Scott said: ‘Jet Technologies is doing a terrific job in the narrow web market with our flexo and letterpress CtP technology.
‘They know this market so well and adding a prestigious customer like Signature Labels is very welcome indeed. Screen will install and service the equipment with Jet Technologies continuing to supply its established consumable products to the company.’
Jet Technologies director Jack Malki added: ‘It has been a good PacPrint for us on a range of products but to take another order for flexo/letterpress CtP is the icing on the cake; Signature Labels is a very welcome addition to the family of Jet Technologies’ customers.’
