Miraclon transitions to direct sales in Finland
Flexo plate supplier ends distributor model to strengthen technical support for Finnish printers.
Miraclon has changed its go-to-market approach in Finland, transitioning from distributor sales to serving the Finnish market directly with its Flexcel NX platemaking system.
The move aims to provide Finnish printers and trade shops with deeper technical engagement, faster response times and direct access to expertise supporting modern flexographic printing processes.
Flexcel NX Technology is an integrated, end-to-end flexo platemaking system designed to deliver precise imaging and optimized ink transfer through plate materials, equipment, software and multi-form surface patterning. The system provides control and predictability for efficient, high-quality flexo printing across applications.
'Finland has a proud and technically sophisticated flexo printing community, with a strong reputation for quality and a growing appetite for innovation,' said Stephen McCartney, commercial director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East at Miraclon. 'As the flexible packaging market continues to expand, driven by sustainability demands, SKU proliferation and brand expectations, Finnish printers are well positioned to accelerate their adoption of modern flexo practices.'
McCartney explained the transition enables closer customer collaboration to maximize Flexcel NX Technology's potential within the wider packaging production ecosystem. 'It is about more than plates; it's about enabling a controlled, predictable, high-performance print process that delivers consistent results day after day,' he noted.
Miraclon defines modern flexo as a standardized, sustainable manufacturing process where flexo achieves visual parity with gravure, offset and digital while delivering consistent, predictable results. The approach enables printing with fewer colors, offers wide print latitude and facilitates optimization with sustainable materials.
According to the company, printers implementing modern flexo benefit from increased uptime, reduced waste and more efficient job scheduling while meeting client demands.
