L'Eperon invests in second HP Indigo press

French label converter Imprimerie de L’Éperon has completed installation of its second HP Indigo 8000 digital press as it looks to move more production volume to digital print and improve margins and streamline operations.

Imprimerie de L’Éperon is the first label converter in France to run two HP Indigo 8000 presses

L’Éperon acquired its first HP Indigo 8000 in January 2018 and after reaching its full capacity invested in the second unit to keep up with demand.

‘We are very pleased to be the first in France to be equipped with two HP Indigo 8000 digital presses as we expand our digital production,’ said Christophe Vavassori, president of Imprimerie de L’Éperon. ‘We have quickly discovered the benefits of the HP Indigo 8000 economics to improve our margins and streamline operations.”

The converter will use both HP Indigo presses to balance job loads with its HP Indigo WS6800, focusing on high-versatility short runs, while the HP Indigo 8000 will be used for medium and longer runs, including jobs transferred from flexo.

Earlier this year, L’Éperon tied for second place in the HP Indigo 8000 challenge for productivity in one shift, producing 20,292 meters, five SKUs, and two types of labels: wrap-around and pressure-sensitive.

‘The HP Indigo 8000 is a real productivity workhorse and is an important factor driving our year-over-year company growth. With the HP Indigo 8000 we can keep customers delighted and also gain new markets with the highest quality label at a price and response time that customers truly appreciate,’ added Vavassori.
