Sade Ofset adopts Prinect

Istanbul printer replaces two presses with one after Prinect adoption.

Istanbul-based packaging and label printer Sade Ofset has adopted Heidelberg's Prinect Production as its central workflow platform and has replaced two presses with a single Speedmaster CX 104 after extending the software to planning, cost analysis and production control.

Founded in 1974, the company specializes in chocolate packaging, wet-glue labels and booklet labels. Prinect now connects its pre-press, press and production planning with production and quality data captured automatically.

The move began with a practical problem. When the RIP of its CtP system needed modernizing, Sade Ofset faced substantial upgrade costs, and Heidelberg offered a subscription model as an alternative entry point into the Prinect workflow. The company was running exclusively on presses from other manufacturers at the time. 'At first, moving to Prinect seemed like a straightforward business decision to avoid high upgrade costs. Looking back, I can say that decision became an important strategic turning point for our company,' said Murat Demir, owner and managing partner of Sade Ofset.

Prinect's paper stretch compensation proved a decisive advantage from the start. Precise registration on 70 to 80 g/m² substrates had been one of the company's biggest production challenges. 'Maintaining register accuracy on thin materials was a major challenge for us. With Prinect's paper stretch compensation, we were able to manage this issue much more effectively,' Demir explained.

As confidence in Heidelberg grew, the company extended Prinect to planning, cost analysis and production control, which laid the groundwork for consolidating press capacity. Last year it replaced two existing presses with a Speedmaster CX 104 fitted with an in-line color and quality control system. A single press now achieves the production volumes that previously required two machines running double shifts. 'Our goal was to bring planning, pre-press and pressroom together in one integrated environment to improve efficiency, scheduling quality and resource utilization,' emphasized Demir.

'The Sade Ofset example shows that the digitalization of production processes goes far beyond individual software functions. It is only through the intelligent networking of data, machines and processes that the foundation for efficiency gains and economically successful production is created,' noted Jürgen Grimm, head of Prinect at Heidelberg.

Sade Ofset's next step is to integrate Prinect further with its existing MIS to increase the level of automation in production control.
