Pankaboard upgrades formation control on BM2 board machine

Pankaboard, a Finland-based supplier of special cartonboards, has upgraded the formation control on its BM2 board machine.

As a result of the formation control investment, fiber distribution has re-engineered and optimized for enhanced smoothness and converting performance

BM2 produces folding boxboards (FBB), specializing in heavier weight products. As a result of the formation control investment, fiber distribution has been re-engineered and optimized for enhanced smoothness and converting performance. The result of the investment, according to Pankaboard, can be seen as outstanding printing quality, an improved surface for lamination and improved runnability at high speed on packaging lines.

The new fiber technology also enables Pankaboard to continue its development work in FBB to further optimize the product offering for strategic end uses.

‘Through this targeted investment and dedicated product development we have been able to reach a superior formation that results in several benefits for our customers,’ commented Petri Saastamoinen, mill manager at Pankaboard.

The upgraded follows the installation of a new dilution headbox on Pakaboard’s BM3 board machine, as detailed here.
