Spec Systems invests in finishing

South African printer Spec Systems has invested in its finishing capabilities, with Rotocon RCSI 330 slitter rewinders fitted with Erhardt+Leimer (E+L) Smartscan systems.

Rotocon is E+L's new local agent in South Africa

Spec Systems has more than 32 years of experience in providing label, barcode, RFID and identity card printing products and options throughout South Africa, with operations in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.

The installation, in Johannesburg, follows E+L appointing Rotocon as its local agent for South Africa.

Jacques van Jaarsveld, Spec Systems' Johannesburg operations manager, said: ‘The RSCI 330 machine is so simple to operate that it was installed on a Wednesday and fully operational by Thursday, running at a speed of about 200m/min. In addition, the E+L Smartscan inspection feature requires minimal machine operator training because of its ease of use and one-touch set-up compared to around five steps for competitive machines.’
