Impinj rebrands around Physical Intelligence
RAIN RFID specialist launches new platform positioning linking item data to enterprise AI.
Impinj has launched a new platform vision called Physical Intelligence, rebranding its RAIN RFID platform around its role as the link between physical item data and AI-powered enterprise decision-making, alongside a new logo marking the strategic shift.
The company, which has connected more than 160 billion items since 2002, positions Physical Intelligence as real-time item data that enables enterprise AI systems to visualize inventory, track movement and act on what is happening on the factory floor, in transit and at point of sale. Without trusted item-level data, Impinj argues, AI systems are working from incomplete or synthetic information rather than ground truth.
The Impinj platform is built around four functions: Identify, which tells enterprises what items they have; Track, covering when and where items are moving; Analyze, enabling action based on that data; and Automate, applying machine learning to continuously improve outcomes. The platform includes Gen2X for improved item visibility and data protection alongside advanced localization and tracking capabilities.
The rebrand reflects the growing role of RFID-encoded labels and inlays in feeding AI systems used for inventory management, loss prevention, freshness tracking and supply chain optimization.
