LEDcure SCR 20W/sq cm has been designed to meet the needs of label and packaging printers transiting into UV LED curing using either new or existing presses spanning multiple print technologies.

It is said to bring optimum user flexibility and versatility in a compact, robustly-engineered high-performance platform. The length of the system can be freely scaled (3.5-21.25in) and configured to suit all requirements of narrow width web flexo and offset presses.

SCR integration is facilitated by a new design facility, Xchange, which enables fast onsite exchange of LED arrays, with maximum press uptime. The system also allows the versatility of mixed modes at different wavelengths, with a consequent output upgrade.

The system is supplied as a fully configured package including, cables, power supply, control and chiller, full light shielding and interlocking for total safety compliance.

This latest collaboration between ITL and IST features the jointly developed XT8 UV LED booster, enabling up to 30 percent more output than other available LED systems. It also features the STEADYcool water cooling feature ensuring quieter, cooling to within five degrees C and consistent UV output even on the longest of arrays, according to ITL. A five-year warranty is also included.

Also on show from ITL at Labelexpo Americas 2018 is the air-cooled Pincure Z UV LED curing system for high speed pinning between inkjet printheads. This latest development to the proven Pincure series takes in enhancements to the housing prohibiting media contact and contamination to lenses in addition to the range’s standing benefit of eliminated risk of UV light damage to printhead nozzle plates.
