Mark Andy opens showroom in Poland

Mark Andy has officially opened a new showroom in Warsaw, Poland as part of its work to extend its presence in central and eastern Europe.

The opening of the showroom in Warsaw was marked with an Open House which was based around live demonstrations of a 430mm Mark Andy Performance Series P7 servo press

The opening of the showroom in Warsaw was marked with an Open House event attended by more than 100 converters and industry specialists from Poland and neighbouring countries, and which was based around live demonstrations of a 430mm Mark Andy Performance Series P7 servo press, and the latest versions of VSI 330 and VLI 440 inspection rewinders from Rotoflex.

Four print jobs were run off in quick succession on different substrates using different sized repeats.  The first two were pressure-sensitive, 4-color process jobs run at high speed using the new advanced waste wind-up.  The substrate was then changed to a 28-micron unsupported BOPP, which ran as a 5-color fruit juice label, also at very high speed.  Each job had a different repeat length, and the audience was shown how quickly a job change could be achieved with a minimum of waste.

Mark Andy European sales director Tom Cavalco described the showroom as ‘an ideal launch pad for supporting the market with our range of leading technology’. A new Mark Andy Digital Series hybrid line will be installed in the showroom later this year.

As well as press demonstrations, the Open House program included presentations from Sten Sarap, owner of Estonian business The Label Printers, who shared his company’s success story as a label converter using Mark Andy presses and Rotoflex rewinders, and from supplier partners Esko, Paragon Inks and Info Systems on pre-press efficiency, inks and business automation. The Open House was also supported by Cheshire Anilox Technology and Alphasonics.

To support the growth and expansion of Mark Andy in the European narrow web market, the company has made several new appointments to its sales and service teams, including two sales agents in Germany, and Łukasz Chruśliński as its new sales manager for Poland.
