Marzek Etiketten+Packaging has inaugurated a new plant for flexible packaging production in Hungary

Marzek has production facilities in Austria, Hungary and the Ukraine, with the new flexibles plant, which operates under the name of M-Flexilog Kft, located in Békéscsaba, close to the existing Marzek Kner Packaging Kft factory. The greenfield site has been built on a 25,000 sqm area and with a new factory space of more than 8,500 sqm, dedicated to the manufacturing of flexible packaging, pouches, sleeves and wraparound labels.

Overall, the value of the four-year investment project exceeds 11 million EUR (12.9 million USD). Marzek Group has received subsidies from the Hungarian government of more than three million EUR (3.5 million USD).

In addition to a fully automated color mixing system, the optimized workflow also includes an automated 14m high-rack warehouse with induction loops for over 8,000 pallet spaces. The construction also meets high environmental protection standards and state-of-the-art energy recovery systems. The operation complies with the strictest safety and hygiene standards applicable for the food and pharmaceutical packaging industries.

Guests of honor at the inauguration ceremony included: Magyar Levente, Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Minister of State for Economic Diplomacy; Elisabeth Ellison-Kramer, ambassador of the Republic of Austria; Péter Szarvas, Mayor of Békéscsaba; Márk Mautner, head of the commercial section of the Hungarian embassy in Austria; and Thomas Moschig, Austrian commercial deputy attaché. The company was represented by three generations of the Marzek family – KR Helga Marzek, Alexander Schneller-Scharau, Stefanie Wareka and Dr Johannes Michael Wareka, who commented: ‘The strength of Marzek Etiketten+Packaging as a small company group against large listed multinationals is, on the one hand, the international networking by taking benefit of location advantages, the long-term market experience with high application competence and, on the other hand, always targeting individual customer needs as well as personal customer orientation to which the family has always been dedicated.’
