Neenah Paper invests in shop floor management software

Neenah Paper and HawkPoint Technologies have signed an agreement that will see the materials company install the Shop Floor software program.

Neenah is a global specialty materials company, focused on premium niche markets

HawkPoint Technologies’ Shop Floor software program is a job tracking tool that interfaces with existing manufacturing processes. It uses automated machine interfacing to collect real-time shop floor data on critical manufacturing processes such as set-ups, downtimes, run speeds, roll changes and scrap analysis.

HawkPoint Technologies said Neenah Paper realized productivity and information gains while doing a trial of Shop Floor on one of its sheeters. As a result, the software program is now to be rolled out to all machines within the division to allow for efficient project management.

Troy Dunsirn, owner of HawkPoint Technologies, commented that Shop Floor will help improve Neenah Paper’s productivity by allowing the company’s management team to see real-time data on operator performance, material consumption and production, job costing and scrap analysis.

Brandon Flees, converting manager at Neenah Paper, added: ‘Shop Floor allows our converting facility to collect, trend and share operational data. This data will help us identify and prioritize cost-saving projects, maintenance reliability issues and speed optimization opportunities. HawkPoint Technologies programs are user-friendly and can be easily modified to keep pace with our ever-changing product lines.

‘We chose HawkPoint Technologies because of its proven success with converting data acquisition systems and affordable pricing.’

HawkPoint Technologies works with converting and label customers across the Us to streamline workflow, manage inventory, reduce waste and increase profit margins by integrating its Shop Floor, MRP II and Reporting Dashboard software systems. All of the software packages can be purchased separately or bundled together. HawkPoint also offers IT services and support to companies in various industries, including disaster recovery.
