‘RFID 101’ – Basic training for RFID from Avery Dennison
RFID is still an elusive concept for many people: how does it work? How secure is the data? Where is RFID used? These are just some of the questions that are regularly asked in connection with this technology. Avery Dennison RFID has therefore come up with the English-language RFID basic training, ‘RFID 101’, which answers all the underlying questions concerning this technology and its possible applications. ‘RFID 101’ is available on CD and can be requested free of charge on the company’s website.
RFID 101 combines a live narrator with animations, photos and video to walk the viewer through the history of RFID; technology basics; applications & markets; system components; RFID label converting; and tag testing & quality. Each major topic is a separate module, allowing the viewer to watch the presentation from start to finish (about 55 minutes) or to customize the presentation by watching select modules based on their own experience or schedule.
Much of the content for RFID 101 was inspired by Avery Dennison’s work with myriad end users and other RFID stakeholders who have visited our Test Centers over the last couple of years for free product testing and other technical services & training.
‘We produced RFID 101 to help folks get up to speed quickly on RFID without spending a lot of money,’ said Florian Jungmeier, director, marketing and sales, RFID Europe at Avery Dennison. ‘We understand RFID is a complex subject and this presentation covers all the basics. RFID 101 can be passed around the office, viewed by a group or sent by a converter or systems integrator to a customer. And, we’ve made it easy to get a free copy – visit our web site – rfid.averydennison.co.uk.’
