AdPhos’ new LightGuide: optimized intensity for better curing

AdPhos AG, a supplier of accelerated drying systems and owner of Eltosch, has announced the launch of LightGuide, a new generation of improved output, compact UV modules designed to fit virtually any press on the market.

The company said in a statement: ‘LightGuide is designed to maximize energy usage via an innovative combined elliptical and parabolic reflector that optimizes intensity and minimizes back reflection. In addition, reflector profiles are interchangeable, so optimal curing for different applications is easy to achieve; a change from broad beam to narrowly focused curing can take less than two minutes. And with Plug-and-Play connections, LightGuide modules can be moved easily and quickly from UV interdeck to end-of-press utilization.  

‘All these features provide a versatility that ensures initially low capital investment coupled with a seamless upgrade path to match increasing production volumes and complexity of UV applications.’

The LightGuide modules have also been designed for ease of maintenance; lamp exchanges take less than one minute and are completed without tools using simple click and plug-in technology.

LightGuide is available with UV lamps up to 240 W/cm of power, in all format sizes to a maximum radiated width of 2200mm and with AdPhos’ specialized WhiteCure technology for improved cure of opaque white inks.
