Aquaflex to introduce ‘sleeved’ ELS-D series at Labelexpo Americas

Aquaflex has added the ELS-D series to its ELS servo press line. This new ELS variant will feature dual-axis servo-driven print heads utilizing cantilevered sleeved plate cylinders, automatic registration, electronic job storage and a robust remote diagnostics capability. You can see an ELS-D series print station at Labelexpo Americas.
The ELS-D series brings sleeve technology and infinite repeat capabilities to the prime label / flexible packaging / narrow web market at very competitive pricing. Currently available in the 16” web width on the ELS 16-D, the dual-axis sleeved print head, or ‘D’ series will also be offered in 10” and 13” web widths.
Mac Rosenbaum, VP for Aquaflex / F. L. Smithe said, ‘We’re very excited to bring this new capability to the ELS line. It is a result of our commitment to ongoing product improvement and development. This is not an upgrade to the standard single axis servo ELS. Instead it is a variant of that popular platform that delivers features and benefits normally associated with much more expensive presses.’
Rosenbaum continued, ‘When Aquaflex first introduced full servo-axis cantilevered sleeved print heads in 2004 with the FPC Servo Packaging press. The FPC quickly earned the reputation of being the reproduction and performance ‘gold standard’ of the packaging industry. Migrating some of that proven technology to the ELS platform provides prime label printers with greater flexibility and some serious competitive advantages.’
The ELS was first introduced at Labelexpo in 2006 as a value-priced servo press designed specifically for the prime label market. It was the first servo press in its class and it delivered multi-substrate capabilities including the distinguishing ability to print on thin film.
