Armor launches APR1 line of thermal ribbons

The company has been developing the new product for the last 18 months to answer strict technical and performance specifications. The APR1 features a unique formulation of high-density black ink, excellent print sharpness and uses the next generation, four microns PET film resulting in up to 12 percent waste reduction.

'All along the APR1 development 11 technicians and engineers conducted more than 450 ink formulation trials at Armor laboratories to reach the defined specifications. The challenge was to develop a good, but competitive product without any compromise on the usual Armor quality and clearly our extended tests show that APR1 meets all these criteria,' said Pierre Poullaouec, laboratory manager at Armor.

The new line is suitable for all paper and synthetic label materials, suited especially for logistics, distribution, clothing, retail and pharmaceutical sectors and comes with a lifetime guarantee, free print-head cleaning wipes and individual certificate of conformity.

Armor has also introduced a new categorization across its offering with Club, Access and Expert families of products based on a cost and performance ratio. Each of them consists of a wax, wax-resin and resin based thermal ribbons. The Club family covers over three quarters of the standard labeling needs and includes AWR8, AP6 and AXR7+; the Access line includes AWR1, APR1 and AXR1 and is dedicated for businesses looking for a cost-effective technology and lastly the Expert family for the most demanding or specific applications.

The company has also introduced the new AXR100 ribbon dedicated to near-edge printers, positioned as part of the Access family of the existing resin range, which already comprises historical leading ribbons such as AXR600 and AXR800/900.
