ARMOR launches a new wax/resin ribbon: APR6

ARMOR has put all innovation capability into the development of a new wax/resin ribbon dedicated to Flat head technology: APR6.

APR6 is a highly sensitive premium wax/resin ribbon designed to give excellent printing performance at low energy. It can be printed on a wide range of substrates with the same level of performance, making this ribbon perfectly adapted to the labeling market where a high level of performance is required.

The first market tests are confirming its ability to print on, at a high level of quality, varnished, pre-printed, rough, matt or glossy substrates. APR6 proves to be an excellent ribbon for standard applications like storage, shipping, pharmaceutical or retail labeling, but also for more specific uses such as wine labels, thick substrates (tags), glossy varnishes, etc. The ribbon is food contact approved, bringing a solution to the food industry where strong traceability regulations are imposed by the European Union.

The ink provides excellent printing quality for all types of barcodes, very small text, large characters and logos, at a blackness above 2.1 (ODR).

The ribbon structure allows printing on a wide range of receptors, such as uncoated, coated and pre-printed papers and synthetics.

The printed image offers a good level of smudge resistance combined with heat resistance up to 100C (212F). Those characteristics remain at speeds up to 300 mm/s (12 ips) and with 200, 300 and 600 DPI printheads.

APR6 features ARMOR’s backcoat technology, ensuring excellent printhead protection, preventing clogging and static build-up, enabling this ribbon to be printed on RFID tags. The ribbon has been designed to create a very low level of noise while being printed in order to provide comfort for the user.

The ribbon is not only offering an extremely good, sharp and dark printing quality, but is also bringing a high level of comfort. Comfort for the user: low level of noise while printing, no static charging which facilitates the handling of the roll and makes the ribbon compatible for future RFID applications.

Comfort for the reseller: excellent multi-receptor compatibility covering a wide range of applications and printer settings with a single ribbon, combined with an excellent printing quality.

With this brand new formulation, ARMOR proves once again its ability to produce one of the greatest products on the market in the wax/resin ribbon range and demonstrates its willingness to support its customers in the development of new applications and in the gain of new markets.
