Avery Dennison launches second generation conformable films

Labels and Labeling thumbnail

Avery Dennison has launched two new products in its proprietary co-extruded self-adhesive labeling films range: Fasson FasClear Plus and Primax Plus. At a new, lower caliper, Fasson FasClear Plus and Primax Plus mean cost savings from longer reels – more labels per printed reel, reduced on-press downtime for reel changes, and reductions in reel changes on the labeling line.

The films feature the machine-direction stiffness with cross-direction conformability which characterized the first-generation films – a special orientation which makes the films highly conformable, particularly over compound curves and on flexible containers. Together, these features make them suitable not only for primary product labels, especially in the health and beauty market, but also for the growing market in film labels for long-life functional track-and-trace applications.

FasClear Plus (clear) and Primax Plus (white) feature a satin-finished print skin which will accept all the traditional reel-to-reel print processes as well as thermal transfer print for variable data. The films are supplied as standard with Fasson S692N adhesive, which is approved for direct contact with dry and moist non-fatty foodstuffs (FDA 175.105 and BfR XIV). Release liner BG40 White complements facestock and adhesive to give high-speed, accurate label dispensing.
