Cabot and Impika collaborate for decorative ink jet printing
A decorative ‘metal effect’ ink is the result of a close partnership between Cabot, a specialist in making and handling fine chemistry particles, and Impika, an expert in material and ink jet solutions.
The companies say that this ink collaboration program brings an economic and technical alternative process to the hot foil and cold foil used in the traditional printing industry.
This new generation of high-resolution ‘metal effect’ ink can be jetted at high speed, and its decorative characteristics are ‘very attractive’ for the label and flexible packaging markets. The companies believe that the food and beverage, cosmetic and pharmaceutics industries are particularly suited to the metal effect.
A ‘metal effect’ ink jet printing demonstrator will run at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels, on Impika’s booth - Hall 6 H25).
