Domino S-Series set to further increase equipment effectiveness

Domino Printing Sciences plc, the global ink jet and laser solutions provider, has announced a major development to its S-Series range of high performance scribing lasers, with the introduction of its new S-Series plus range.

The launch comes as part of Domino’s larger initiative, known as the plus Program which comprises a whole range of new products and services across its product portfolio. Supported by Domino’s global sales and service network, the versatile S-Series plus range which includes the S100 , S200 and S300 variants, have been designed to deliver high quality coding solutions that increase overall equipment effectiveness.

The S-Series plus can be complemented by the flexible TotalCare plus program, a new range of managed support services, that allows manufacturers to choose the best support model from fully outsourced to a self-sufficient approach.

The result of many months of intensive development, Domino’s S-Series plus range builds upon the pioneering laser technology and world renowned capabilities of the user-friendly and cost-effective S-Series range, to offer a host of additional benefits including reduced set up time and fast product changeovers.

As a result, the S-Series plus provides increased productivity and flexibility to deliver permanent and precise, letter quality codes in the most demanding production environments.

The S-Series plus provides greater functionality thanks to the improved Windows based software. The new Basic User Interface option provides quick message selection and start up. Coupled with a Text Assistant the user-friendly WYSIWYG color touch-screen ensures codes are quick and easy to set up and edit.

Users also benefit from Domino’s hallmark laser technology which enables the S-Series plus to consistently print quality, legible codes that reduce the risk of costly returns and with the smallest and lightest head in its class, provides more options to mount into tight production spaces without causing obstruction. The S-Series plus allows high-speed printing of simple, one-line codes in a range of fonts, to more complex applications involving real time data, serial numbers and 2D codes.

Additionally, remote control and networking capabilities via an OPC server, permits the S-Series plus to integrate seamlessly into ERP (SCADA) systems that enable coder control, message selection, status monitoring and access to performance metric data.

The S-Series plus range also offers the advantage of a direct interface to the Domino DPX fume extraction system for automatic removal of fumes and particles, thereby ensuring consistent code quality and reduced rejects, as well as safeguarding the production environment and personnel.

As part of its new plus range, Domino has also launched a new series of support products specifically designed for S-Series plus users. Comprising a flexible set of modules, which include start up training, maintenance and technical support, TotalCare plus provides customers with a predictable cost of ownership and ensures high equipment effectiveness over an agreed period.
