EFI launches range of Jetrion industrial inkjet systems and inks
EFI, provider of color digital print servers, superwide format and industrial inkjet printers and inks and print management solutions, is ramping up its presence in the European label market with its range of integrated ink and hardware solutions for the industrial inkjet printing market.
Recently appointed director of Jetrion sales for Europe, Dirk Waes, now has a European sales team in place with the appointment of sales development managers in both the Central and UK regions of Europe, with an appointment to the Southern region expected imminently.
Peter Lewald will take over the sales development role in Central Europe. Based in Freiburg, Germany, Peter has over 30 years of experience in the graphic arts industry, with his most recent role being with the Dotrix arm of Agfa in Belgium.
Also making the move to EFI, after 21 years with Agfa, is Dave Gray who will take on the UK sales role. Dave’s recent responsibilities at Agfa include worldwide commercial sales for the M-Press and European sales for industrial imaging systems.
Dirk Waes, previously both at HP Indigo and the Dotrix arm of Agfa, is feeling extremely positive about his increasing European team. ‘To date, the Jetrion product range has had a very strong presence in the US and has more than 160 installations worldwide, although the European operation has been comparatively small. Now that Jetrion is part of EFI, it is able to benefit from both increased investment and EFI’s significant European network, enabling us to grow our European team in order to really begin to make an impact on the market over here.’
In addition to the new sales appointments, the main EFI Jetrion operation in Europe, including its service and support engineers, has now moved to new premises in Brussels which it is sharing with the VUTEk division of EFI, enabling both teams to benefit from their shared expertise in industrial inkjet applications.
‘Given the obvious synergies between the Jetrion and VUTEk product ranges, the move to shared premises in Brussels makes perfect sense for both of our teams,’ said Paul Cripps, managing director, Europe. ‘We are looking to develop a business model that will allow an increased level of co-operation between our service and support engineers from the two product ranges, enabling our customers to benefit from a wider range of expertise on both sides. EFI’s Jetrion customers are already seeing the benefits of Jetrion now being part of a much wider manufacturing company and this development will take that one step further.’
Labelexpo 2007 will see the full European launch of EFI’s Jetrion 4000 Series full color UV Inkjet printer, first previewed at Labelexpo last year, which is capable of producing quality full color labels and flexible packaging.
EFI will also be showing its Jetrion 3025 mono UV inkjet system that enables customers to produce hybrid-printed labels, barcodes and direct mail pieces with variable data. Both systems utilize Jetrion’s advanced UV ink technology.
Visitors to booth 6H60 at Labelexpo in Brussels will be able to view EFI’s Jetrion range as well as the EFI Fiery XF RIP which, in conjunction with the Jetrion 4000 Series, provides a production solution to handle the high volume and tight turnaround times of industrial applications.
Also on the booth will be EFI’s server-based proofing application, Colorproof XF, configured specifically for the flexo market, with options including Spot Color and Dot Creator. EFI will also be showcasing its award-winning award winning job web-to-print solution, Digital StoreFront, designed to deliver a world-class, print-centric e-commerce solution for print service providers.
