EXCLUSIVE NEWS - SPG Prints signs first Chinese OEM partner

Under the terms of the OEM aggreement, SPGPrints will provide customized rotary screen technology and supporting services for Spande’s latest flexo press, integrating its rotary screen unit at a deeper level with Spande’s intelligent visual system and servo control system.

‘Spande is the first OEM partner we signed in the China market,’ said Hank Guitjens, SPGPrints commerical manager label printing. ‘We’re very interested in working with Spande’s innovative technology and pioneering development concepts. Spande’s workshop left us a very good and deep impression.’

Spande chairman Steven Ye said, ‘We sincerely appreciate SPGPrints’ recognition of Spande’s products and technologies. SPGPrints is the world’s leading rotary screen printing supplier and they have very strict standards to audit OEM partners. We are looking forward to this cooperation. Combining SPGPrints’ rotary screen unit into the whole control system of Spande’s flexo press will provide a more integrative and intelligent printing solution for label converters, and greatly lower the inline production waste produced by the conventional printing process.’

Spande launched its S7 flexo press on May 17, 2019. With eight servo drives in each printing station, the S7 implements the company’s i-pressure automatic positioning system and i-Vision intelligent pressure and register control system, which not only improves printing quality and production reliability, but also helps save materials and time compared with manual setups.

The two partners will also cooperate in customer service. ‘SPGPrints has very rich experieance and a complete service system in rotary screen technology, while Spande has very professional R&D and service team in flexo printing,’ said Li Jun, general manager SPGPrints Wuxi. ‘With this cooperation, both companies will jointly provide more comprehensive solutions for label converters. SPG Prints (Wuxi) will provide a local service for Spande’s label converter customers.’

The SPGPrints announcement follows Spande’s launch of a new hybrid press in co-operation with Domino, which will be exhibited at Labelexpo Europe.
