GMG releases ColorProof driver for HP Z3100 printer
GMG, supplier of color management and proofing solutions, has released a GMG ColorProof driver for the HP DesignJet Z3100 printer. In doing so, users can take advantage of all the benefits of an internal spectrophotometer, along with an expanded color gamut.
The HP DesignJet Z3100 digital inkjet printer is designed to create proofs with twelve color units: light versions of CMYK, traditional MYK, RGB, a light black (gray) and a gloss enhancer. With these twelve units and the GMG ColorProof system, the user is able to print a much wider gamut of colors than the traditional four-color system. For example, spot color, Hexachrome and Opaltone color gamuts are reproduced much truer.
‘The HP DesignJet Z2100 printer was very significant when introduced a year ago,’ said Robert Weihing, managing director of GMG. ‘With its internal spectrophotometer, it allowed GMG to provide some extremely easy to use systems for novice users. Now, with the HP DesignJet Z3100, GMG is able to provide the same user-friendly features, along with an extended color gamut, to reproduce special colors.’
