GSE Dispensing upgrades ink management software

GSE Dispensing, supplier of ink dispensing technology, has released an update of its proprietary Ink Management Software, IMS 3.61.
This new update comprises a host of new functions, which are aimed at improving ink formulation accuracy, user friendliness and productivity. These include the ability to make recipe corrections according to anilox roll types, bucket parking facilities, improved ink return management functions, and a user interface in several European languages.
The anilox correction function within the IMS software ensures automatic correction of ink concentrations according to the anilox type. As a rule, ink strength is proportional to the ink volume that passes through the anilox roll. Printers until now had to compensate for strong ink concentrations after recipe preparation, for instance, by adjusting process parameters.
The bucket parking feature enables the system to temporarily store information about partially dispensed recipes. The company says this is especially advantageous when interruptions occur, for example, due to an empty ink barrel. In such a scenario, the operator can break off from the dispensing job, attend to other formulations, and return to the affected recipe at a more convenient time.
‘With the new features of the IMS 3.61, the printer is well placed to get the recipe right first time round, and achieve total color accuracy on the press. This further improves the predictability of ink formulation, providing a solid foundation for achieving high productivity and print quality,’ said Maarten Hummelen, marketing director at GSE Dispensing.
IMS software is used by GSE’s ink dispensing systems to carry out all ink logistics calculations, relating to recipes, press returns, stock management and remote diagnostics.
The software upgrades are provided free of charge to those customers who subscribe to GSE Dispensing’s service contract. This gives customers access to a full support and maintenance program, carried out by GSE’s technical staff.
