Hiflex launches support software

Hiflex, a supplier of MIS systems, has developed new software which will be used to support the quality assurance efforts of its customers. ‘Hiflex Live’ is a web-based system which provides protection for customer systems and can automate software maintenance.

Designed as an early warning system, Hiflex Live notifies users when updates and patches become available, or when a trouble situation is developing,  i.e., the disk capacity is in need of expansion, so that the system administrator and Hiflex support are notified before the issue results in a system failure. It also shows the currently active services within the Hiflex system, e.g. JDF, Webshop and other integration points. Factors which could influence the stability of either hardware or software are monitored and, where appropriate, improved automatically.

Hiflex Live has been developed as a free service. ‘We are now able to easily optimize installed systems, and the automatic maintenance increases the efficiency of a customer’s entire company. This gives an enormous boost to the quality and stability of our customers MIS systems,’ said Thomas Reichhart, Hiflex’s chairman. ‘The users of this exciting new software are delighted with our solution, and it is easy to see the benefits achieved from immediate assistance with no delays. There are absolutely no added costs, and above all, Hiflex Live provides proactive maintenance to keep your MIS working at maximum efficiency.’

Additional applications include a clean re-installation and automatic configuration of the Hiflex software, as well as a variety of support services to which the customer can subscribe. This can cover everything from icon replacement and the installation of new fonts, to the integration of new layouts into the system.

The most critical feature, however, is said to be the feedback it gives user companies about how they can optimize individual programs. Proactive analysis determines the appropriate solution for any inefficiency, which can then be implemented automatically into the customer’s MIS. Hiflex Live retrieves program version information, checks that the complete functionality is available, and where necessary, initiates an automatic update via the ‘program fingerprint’.
