HP Indigo brings WS6800 advances to India

HP Indigo is to show the latest developments to its WS6800 digital press platform at Labelexpo India 2016 in November, including faster turnaround times through automated color management, a wider frame and new ink capabilities for expanded applications.

A press will be running on the show floor, featuring seven ink stations and a color gamut reaching up to 97 percent of Pantone colors with an in-line spectrophotometer. The WS6800 prints at up to 30m/min in 4-color mode and up to 40m/min in enhanced productivity mode. It produces up to 131 linear feet per minute in color.

Recent advances to the WS6800 digital press platform have included the addition of HP Indigo ElectroInk Fluorescent Pink and HP Indigo ElectroInk Premium White. Two WS6800 print engines are joined to form the HP Indigo 8000 digital press, while a WS6800 digital press is tied into the HP Indigo Digital Combination Printing process. These advances were presented at Labelexpo Americas 2016, as detailed here.

The HP Indigo WS6800 allows converters to produce any narrow format label, flexible packaging, sleeve, IML, wrap-around labels or folding carton job. It supports 12 to 450 micron materials, including standard substrates with in-line priming. HP Indigo ElectroInk Premium White delivers high-opacity white in a one-pass process.

It also offers variable data capabilities for brands using HP SmartStream Mosaic unlimited designs, barcodes, text, images and security features by producing microtext as small as 0.7pt.

The HP Indigo workflow ecosystem includes the highly automated workflow suite powered by Esko, and an array of integrated MIS, pre-press and converting processes from partners.
