MACtac introduces dissolvable labelstock

For customers wishing to avoid the time-consuming hassle of label removal, MACtac Printing Products has developed a new labelstock that is said to completely dissolve in water – face, adhesive and all. 

The dissolvable label will serve a number of application purposes, particularly in the areas of food service and health care where label use is often mandatory, but removal may be difficult or forgotten. Labeled containers can be put directly into dishwashers or boiling water without the possibility of labels clogging drains or contaminating food.

‘Adding water dissolvable labelstock to our product mix helps us address the specific issue of label removal, which has been a problem for some of our customers,’ said Jim Kisthardt, product manager, MACtac Printing Products. ‘This new product is another example of how MACtac is committed to customers. The product’s part number is WDP3201 and features a dissolvable uncoated, 40# facestock and MACtac’s new MP332 acrylic emulsion adhesive, and a 2.5-mil (40#) super calendared kraft liner.
