Mitsubishi to launch new materials at Labelexpo Europe

Mitsubishi HiTec Paper will launch a silver gloss inkjet paper and a barrier paper

Mitsubishi HiTec Paper will launch a silver gloss inkjet paper and a barrier paper for flexible food packaging at Labelexpo Europe 2019.

The new products are among the company’s full range of coated specialty papers for the label and packaging markets, including thermoscript thermal papers, Jetscript inkjet papers, and Supercote cast-coated label papers, presented on stand 6A09 in Hall 6 at the show.

The new jetscript Metal VPG 1018 paper is fully fiber-based substrate with a silver metallic glossy finish and a transparent microporous inkjet coating. The paper features a high print density, fast drying, compatibility with latex inks and strong performance in the self-adhesive production process, says the company.

‘This makes it particularly suitable for eye-catching and high-quality labels in the beverage, cosmetics or food sector. But also for other applications such as wrapping paper, advertising panels and displays,’ said Nic Holmer, sales director.

The second innovation on show will be the new barricote BAG WGOM (89g), described as particularly sustainable barrier paper for flexible food packaging with a universal multi-barrier. It can be heat-sealed and is approved for direct food contact. The virgin fiber paper product is fully recyclable and free of plastic films, aluminum and fluorocarbons.
