Munksjö adds Metalkote Expert and Metalkote Classic as extension of range of base papers for metallizing

Metalkote Expert is intended for returnable beer bottles and Metalkote Classic for one-way beer bottles. Both are one-side coated papers.

Metalkote Expert is an upgraded version of Metalkote Evolution, with the improved paper surface providing optimized varnish consumption and outstanding gloss after metallizing. Performance in die-cutting has also been increased, while Munksjö said it has worked to maintain a balance of technical features for enhanced brand image and optimized performance, including high runnability in the metallizing process, high printing speed, trouble-free labelling, and quick, cost-efficient wash-off.

Metalkote Classic is a high-quality base paper newly-developed for one-way beer bottles. This product also meets the technical requirements of the metallizing process, and enables high performance during printing and labeling.

Metalkote Expert and Metalkote Classic are manufactured at the Stenay mill, France, which manufactures one-side paper for wet-glue metallized labels, flexible packaging and facestock applications as well as clay-coated paper for release liners.
