New Inkometer 1100 ups the benchmark for testing

Thwing-Albert Instrument Company has launched the Inkometer 1100 with added features that increase customer efficiency and laboratory safety.  The machine measures the apparent tack of printing inks under conditions that closely resemble those on a running printing press.

The Inkometer 1100’s new keypad and multi-line display streamlines operation for ease of use, and the new design includes advanced features such as test method storage, statistical reporting, and data exporting, providing the tools to the testing lab that increase productivity.

In addition to four pre-defined ASTM D-4361 based test methods, the Inkometer 1100 can store five user definable methods, including specification for distribution roller speed, distribution time, testing roller speed, testing time and sampling rate.  It can also store up to 180 tack readings per test, and these can be transmitted via the RS-232 port, or exported to a USB flash drive.
