New range of thermoformed trays from Holfeld

Rigid food container manufacturer Holfeld Plastics Ltd has launched a range of thermoformed trays designed with the same footprints as existing foil containers.

The top seal trays are available in mono PP (microwaveable) and APET (non-ovenable) for frozen, ambient or chilled MAP applications. Unlike foil containers the new range is available in clear, colored and with multi cavity options.

Malcolm Oldham, sales director, said: ‘Where food processors have small volumes of foil containers the new plastic formats can utilize sealing equipment capacity on the same lines. This gives the packer the flexibility of multiple menu changes with a low launch cost off the shelf solution rather than the risks, costs and volumes of a custom design.’
