O’Neil announces 3” wireless portable thermal label printer
O’Neil Product Development, Inc., a subsidiary of Dover Corporation, has announced the availability of the O’Neil Compact 3 – The OC3 – 3” portable thermal label and receipt printer.
O’Neil has designed the OC3 to be approximately 35 percent smaller in total volume than the closest competitive label printer. The OC3 prints label and receipt media up to three inches wide and was created to meet the continually expanding requirements associated with retail, hospitality, transportation, warehousing, car rental, and healthcare applications. The OC3 is the newest member of O’Neil’s OC line of mobile printing solutions; the industry’s most light weight, streamlined and ergonomic family of portable label and receipt printers.
The OC3 maintains O’Neil’s reliability standard, and offers optional wireless local area 802.11b/g networking (WLAN) or wireless personal area Bluetooth network (WPAN) capabilities, as well as a wide variety of security options to meet the needs of the retail community. To accommodate the need for faster label printing, the OC3 incorporates a 32-bit RISC ARM 9 processor allowing the printer to process complex applications reportedly up to ten times faster and enabling the user to enjoy high print throughput. For ‘line/queue busting’ applications and easy processing of credit or debit card payments, the OC3 includes an optional built-in magnetic stripe card reader. It prints high quality labels at 203 dpi, utilizes Flash memory for fast adaptability to changing business requirements, and offers intelligent power management for longer battery life to increase user productivity and efficiency.
‘The retail and label printing community has eagerly awaited a smaller, more reliable portable printer solution for shelf labels, price mark-down, and other labeling applications,’ explained Doug Hall, vice president of marketing for O’Neil. ‘The small size and smart styling of the OC3, coupled with increased levels of wireless security, makes it a compelling choice anywhere reliable portable printing is a necessity.’
