Polymag Tek launches web cleaner

US-based Polymag Tek has launched its 6RNWC-CD web cleaner, which is designed to remove loose particulate contamination from a moving web.

The four Polymag Tek Blue-S contact cleaning rolls (CCRs) provide a double nip which contacts both sides of the web as it transports through the unit. Surface contamination is transferred from the web to the CCRs. The CCRs are then continuously cleaned by two pre-sheeted adhesive tape rolls.

When the tape rolls become saturated, a layer of tape can be easily removed via the side access drawer slides. Each tape roll contains 66 linear feet of adhesive tape. Pneumatic cylinders load the top and bottom tape rolls against the CCRs. The clam shell design provides easy web thread up when the clam shell is open. Once the clam shell is closed, the CCRs are nipped and the web drives the cleaner. When the web line stops, the tape rolls separate from the CCRs.
