Printronix Auto ID launches RFID version of T4000 industrial printer

This new, compact T4000 complements the company’s expanding range of RFID printers. But it differs in that it additionally prints and encodes on-metal RFID tags as well as standard labels.

This distinctive feature ‘makes it suited to almost any RFID application,’ says the company, including asset tagging of tools and equipment used by healthcare, manufacturing, supply chain, IT, and service yard professionals.

‘On-metal tags typically come with a foam insulator and metal foil backing, which makes them incompatible with most standard RFID printer/encoders,’ explained Neil Baker, Printronix Auto ID’s sales manager UK, Ireland, Benelux and South Africa. ‘But because the T4000 RFID printer was designed from scratch, it was engineered to handle such media with ease.’

Because accuracy is critical in every application, the T4000 will back-up and completely overstrike, and then reprint, any RFID labels that fail to encode properly.

‘The T4000 with RFID capability is a welcome addition to our rapidly growing line of RFID printers. It’s highly affordable and represents great value to our customers,’ said Baker. ‘It’s easy to use, very compact, offers extremely high productivity, and has the dual flexibility of printing on-metal or traditional RFID tags.’

The T4000 can be ordered with or without RFID capability. Its small footprint and compact size ensure it can be housed in areas where space is limited. Despite its small stature, the T4000 can print up to 5,000 labels or tags a day at ten inches per second.

The new T4000 has multiple connectivity options, remote printer management tools and automated alerts that keep operations functioning at optimum efficiency and productivity. The T4000 RFID comes standard with ethernet, USB host, USB device and serial connectivity; state-of-the-art versions of wifi and bluetooth are optional extras.

Like all of Printronix Auto ID’s industrial label printers, the T4000 RFID is built on its exclusive Printronix System Architecture (PSA) platform. It features nine thermal printer language emulations, embedded webpage, remote printer management tool, and user interface common to all Printronix Auto ID industrial printers.

A quick-change memory card (QCMC) is also an option on the new T4000 RFID. It stores printer configurations and network settings thus simplifying printer installation and operation.

‘Operation could not be simpler,’ explained Baker. ‘A 3.5-inch color display provides good, clear illumination for easy navigation in any conditions. The T4000 has a bifold door to enable users to easily change media and ribbons, even in confined spaces. To cut down on media changes, the side-loading label and ribbon spindles can accommodate 8-inch media rolls and 450-meter ribbons.

‘Our customers expect the same versatility and reliability from our RFID printers that they expect from all Printronix Auto ID devices; they won’t be disappointed with the T4000. See it for the first time in Europe on stand 7A44 at Labelexpo, Brussels, September 24-27,’ said Baker.
