Rohm and Haas’ solventless adhesives to be demonstrated by Nordmeccanica

Rohm and Haas has announced that two of its new Mor-free solventless adhesives will be featured during demonstration trials scheduled in April 2008 by coating and laminating equipment manufacturer Nordmeccanica NA.

Demonstrations of the solventless laminating equipment will take place at the company's Edgewood, Long Island, New York facilities on April 10. Specialty materials producer Rohm and Haas’ newest advancements in solventless adhesives include a retort packaging adhesive (Mor-free 225) and a fast-cure adhesive for hot fill food packaging (Mor-free L75-164). The fast-cure product is claimed to reduce cure time by more than 50 percent and allows for slitting after just four hours to provide same-shift processing and improved productivity.

Laminators and packagers find that installing solventless equipment can enable them to add line capacity without concern about VOC issues and air handling equipment, and typically faster than required for solvent adhesive line additions. Nordmeccanica, based in Piacenza, Italy, installs over 140 new machines annually under brand names: Simplex; Super Simplex; Super Combi 3000; Duplex; Triplex; Quadruplex; Multi Layer; Fusion; and World Mixer.

Customers of both Rohm and Haas and Nordmeccanica NA will be receiving personal invitations to attend the April demonstration trials. Others wishing to attend should contact Rohm and Haas at 100 Independence Mall West, Philadelphia, PA 19106. Phone 215-592-3112 or email AandSe-Center@rohmhaas.com.
