Impermea and INX International partner to scale PFAS-free packaging coatings
Strategic collaboration accelerates the commercialization of sustainable barrier technology.

Impermea Materials and INX International Ink Co. have announced an exclusive strategic partnership to accelerate the commercialization of PFAS-free, high-performance barrier coatings for packaging applications.
The collaboration combines INX's technical expertise and global reach with Impermea Materials' proprietary technology platform. INX will serve as the exclusive distributor of Impermea's OLEO-PAK 4100 coating for the print and packaging market, delivering the technology to converters worldwide.
'As regulators turn up the pressure on plastic and forever chemicals, the packaging industry is at a critical inflection point,' stated David Zamarin, CEO and founder of Impermea Materials. 'Our partnership with INX allows us to move faster and reach farther, bringing truly polyethylene-free, PFAS-free packaging to the global market at scale.'
The partnership addresses growing demand for recyclable, compostable and FDA-compliant alternatives to conventional polyethylene and fluorine-based barriers. Impermea's technology offers oil and grease resistance, water vapor control and food-safe performance without PFAS chemicals. OLEO-PAK 4100 complies with Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 and FDA Conditions A-J.
Bryce Kristo, president and CEO at INX International, commented: 'By combining INX's manufacturing scale and global network with Impermea's next-generation chemistry, we are positioned to redefine what's possible in sustainable packaging.'
The agreement builds on INX's 2023 venture investment in DetraPel, Impermea's parent company. Joint pilot programs are expected to begin by the end of 2025, targeting food service applications before expanding to broader commercial uses.
