Sappi’s new Fusion liner wins over print finisher

Fusion, Sappi’s new premium liner, delivers optimum results in embossed foil printing, blind embossing and spot varnish, according to Bielefeld-based Gräfe Druck & Veredelung GmbH.
Gräfe Druck & Veredelung, which specializes in print finishing, commented: ‘It delivers outstanding results not only in the printed image, but also in the finishing. Thanks to its white and smooth surface, Fusion can be finished with outstanding quality. The results and finishing properties in embossed foil printing, blind embossing and spot varnishing are excellent,’ said Frank Denninghoff, one of the company directors.
The company works with well-known customers in the food, cosmetics, tobacco, drinks, music and media industries, and its credits range from print finishing jobs on eye-catching high-quality labels to packaging solutions.
Fusion is the latest innovation from Sappi. It comprises bleached primary fibers rather than GD2 materials that contain a high proportion of recycled paper. The high quality of the coating and the subsequent satinization process give Fusion an extremely bright white and shiny surface that combines the brilliance of a high-quality photo printing paper with the stability of a corrugated board liner. These features ensure it meets the requirements of branded goods and the packaging industry in terms of quality and optimum processing properties. Fusion is available in weights from 130 to 180 g/m2.
