Starna unveils range of UV varnishes

In addition to the recently announced introduction of Curecoat 1, 2, 3 and CurecoatXP primer based coatings, UV, IR and coating technology specialist Starna Industries Ltd has now unveiled a range of premium quality UV varnishes.

Designed for the digital age, Starna Industries UV varnish product line up consists of three products - CureTec UV 100, CureTec UV 200 and CureTec UV 300.

CureTec UV 100 is a high-gloss product resistant UV varnish ideal for overprinting digital images. Used in conjunction with Starna’s water-based primer coatings, Curecoat 1, 2 and XP – it ensures optimum adhesion and long lasting performance of digital inks, such as HP Indigo and toner-based print system to the substrate surface.

Characteristically CureTec UV 100 is of low odor, has excellent non-yellowing properties and can be used for in-direct food product packaging. Moreover CureTec UV 100 provides good rub resistance and can be applied via flexo, roll coater, rod coater and gravure. A duct version is also available.

CureTec UV 100’s companion varnish, CureTec UV 200 provides the same performance features and benefits. Where CureTec UV 200 differs is that it provides a matt finish.

CureTec UV 300 varnish is designed to ensure that hot stamping foils, thermal ribbon and inkjet coding adheres to the printed product. This highly versatile varnish improves product resistance and adds value to the product. Not only does it provide good adhesion for digital inks such as HP Indigo and toner-based digital systems, it is also ideal for flexographic and gravure print systems.

Starna Industries says that CureTec UV 300 is foil blockable, low odor and has good non-yellowing properties. Furthermore, and in common with UV 100 and UV 200 is easy to wash up with standard UV wash up products.
