Stork launches digital RotaPlate solution at Labelexpo Europe
Stork Prints will showcase at its Labelexpo Europe stand – W10 in Hall 12 – a digital RotaPlate imaging solution with the launch of the new table-top rotaLEX 6610 Direct Laser Exposer.
The rotaLEX 6610 is a low-cost and small CtP device that is suitable for digital high-quality RotaPlate applications in tag and label printing. The new Stork system reportedly provides a simplified one-step digital workflow by eliminating the need for conventional film, ablative film, or even ablative plate processing.
The rotaLEX system is compatible with all available RotaPlate specifications, from fine text screens up to tactile screens. The main advantage is that companies can use the standard and proven RotaPlate material and do not have to use special – and more expensive – digital screen plates with a mask layer.
The new Stork system offers ‘perfect imaging quality, increased productivity and totally consistent results from run to run’, says the company. Interesting features include on-the-fly rastering and Windows based multitasking software. Repeat orders can be carried out with ease and jobs can be stored and recalled from the computer.
Bert Grootjen, program manager, Stork Prints, commented: ‘We already have shown the industry that RotaPlate is offering significant cost savings. The new rotaLEX technology provides a major breakthrough in enhanced output quality and consistency. The fact that no film is needed, reduces overall process costs. The chance of human error is greatly reduced – for example, because of inaccurate film positioning. Also, material and plotter costs, handling and storage, dust or scratches on the film, are all eliminated, too.’
Josef Schtzenberger, product manager rotaLEX, commented: ‘The development of our rotaLEX system is based on 25 years’ experience of Stork Prints Austria with Direct Laser Technology. Proven and patented laser technologies in screen pre-press and other applications are combined in this compact CtP table top, specially developed for RotaPlate. It offers perfect reproducibility in quality and register with substantial cost savings.’
