Nowadays, digital printing plates enable screens that are finer than ever before due to their firmer surface structure. However, a firmer printing plate requires additional cushioning in order to deliver even, high-quality print results.

tesa has launched an extra-soft adhesive tape for mounting plates that was specially developed for finest screen printing. The tesa 52223 Softprint x-Soft provides optimal reproduction of even microscopically small details of the original artwork and reduces dot gain.

The most important element of the new tesa printing plate tapes is the extra-soft foam backing: scanning under electron microscopes shows that the tesa Softprint has closed foam cells with an extremely uniform cell structure. The effect: even distribution of pressure, along with foam cell durability that is precise up to the thousandths of a centimeter, even at high print speeds.

The extra-soft foam of the tesa 52223 Softprint x-soft is also effective in overcoming another major challenge in flexo printing. It compensates for undesirable vibration occurring within the printing machinery, which can leave unwanted stripes or ‘barring’ in the print result. This problem-solving capacity further underlines tesa 52223 Softprint x-Soft’s ability to deliver better results at higher speeds.

Problem-free mounting, easy repositioning of the printing plate, and simple, residue-free removal after the print run are said to be some of the additional benefits of the tesa 52223 Softprint x-soft.
