Two new thermal transfer label stocks offer economical options
The Coated Products Operations of Green Bay Packaging Inc., diversified manufacturer of pressure-sensitive paper and films, has introduced two new thermal transfer label stocks that provide customers with an economical alternative to standard thermal transfer label stock.
Economy Thermal Transfer and Ultra Economy Thermal Transfer offer savings in three distinct ways. First, they both utilize a thinner, 39# face stock, which offers a material cost savings. Also, additional savings are provided through shipping cost reduction; thinner material results in a lighter weight label and smaller rolls of finished labels.
Lastly, the Economy Thermal Transfer label stock utilizes a 2.5 mil super-calendared kraft liner, the same liner as standard thermal transfer material; therefore, no dye change is needed. The Ultra Economy Thermal Transfer label can further increase cost savings for converters by using its thinner 1.8 mil glassine liner.
‘Both label stocks can withstand high-speed, die-cutting and stripping, so customers can reduce costs without sacrificing performance,’ a spokesperson for Green Bay Packaging said. ‘And the strength of these new label stocks is comparable to other grades.’ In addition, with a brightness of 89, the label is brighter than most other grades.
