UPM adds to face papers

UPM Label Papers is fortifying its position in the label face paper market by launching two new grades: uncoated, surface-sized UPM Vellum and UPM Jetlabel.

UPM Vellum is an uncoated, surface-sized woodfree face grade. The smooth-surface Vellum is especially designed for logistics labeling and digital, flexographic and offset printing as well as TTR, thermal transfer printing. It is available in the grammage of 70.

UPM Jetlabel is an uncoated grade, claimed to ‘hold the whiteness record in the surface-sized category’. The machine-calendered Jetlabel has a very uniform quality and is suited for digital, flexographic, offset and letterpress printing as well as inkjet printing. In developing Jetlabel, special attention has been paid to the durability of label adhesives. The grade is not applicable for TTR printing. Available in grammages 70–100.
UPM Vellum is produced at the Nordland mill in Germany; the Jetlabel at the Kymi mill in Finland.

‘The added capacity provided by these two mills also means better opportunities to continue expanding our selection; in other words, more possibilities and room to maneuver in our research and development work,’ technical customer service engineer Arttu Keskinen pointed out.
