UPM Specialty Papers has strengthened the selection of sustainable and recyclable packaging papers with UPM Asendo Pro, an advanced fiber-based barrier paper.
UPM Asendo Pro is a two-side coated barrier paper made from renewable sources offering an advantage of an easily recyclable monomaterial. Its print side provides a basis for high-quality visuals in addition to advanced grease and moisture resistance and mineral oil barrier to keep products safe.

UPM Asendo Pro is suitable for dry, greasy, and frozen foods as well as wrappings where excellent print properties are vital. End-use purposes vary from non-food wrapping to food packaging. In addition, they can be easily converted for additional barrier properties and sealability to meet the demands of more challenging end-uses.
The new barrier paper is the result of a market and end-use-driven holistic process. UPM has collaborated with many stakeholders to test the performance and different qualities of the product. Over the development period, the company worked closely with converters, packaging line manufacturers, and brand owners to test the product’s features and to receive input and feedback. The collaborative development process also included optimization of the product’s appealing print performance.
