OMET Americas opens in Grand Rapids MI

OMET, the leading Italian manufacturer of narrow and mid web printing presses and converting equipment has opened an American branch in Grand Rapids.

According to Angelo Bartesaghi, the Founder and President of OMET:  ‘The last few years have been very successful for the company so we felt the timing was right for this important step.  Having this organization in place emphasizes our commitment to OMET customers and the market.’  The new facility joins OMET's established bases in Europe and Asia.

OMET Americas will be responsible for installations in North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America.  The Grand Rapids facility houses administration, customer service and technical field support, and the plant includes a vast spare parts section.

Heading the venture is Jean-Pierre Penhoat, Vice President of Operations, OMET Americas Inc.  With more than 25 years of experience in the converting industry, he has extensive knowledge of service needs in the different markets, including packaging films and folding carton.  His fluency in French makes for ease of communication with Canadian customers, while his Spanish-speaking skills are useful for the Latin American market.
