Omet targets growth in the Middle East with new agent
Italian printing machinery manufacturer Omet has named Printech as its agent for the Middle East.

Printech Middle East is a provider of systems and equipment to the printing and packaging markets across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Omet said the Middle East market is expected to grow rapidly in the next 10-15 years, with a focus on high-quality labels with an increasing level of complexity, and featuring finishes using foiling, screen printing and gravure.
The market sectors that will account for the greatest increase are food and beverage, Omet predicts, as this is where per capita consumption is expanding above 10 percent year-on-year, and whose demand of packaging is expected to rise accordingly. Consequently, the food and beverage label markets are where Printech is mostly concentrating its marketing efforts.
As a strategic move, Printech has also opened two regional offices in Saudi Arabia which, along with its headquarters in Dubai, act as central hubs for the whole region.
Printech supplies the Middle East market with Prati label finishing equipment, Apex anilox rolls and sleeves, AV Flexologic plate mounting machines, BST inspection systems, API foils, Swedev doctor blades, and now Omet presses.
Printech’s objective is to make Omet one of the top three players in the Middle East region by training technical teams to provide prompt after-sales service to existing customers, and install at least one machine in each country in the Middle East in the next two years.
Jay Chawda, technical director at Printech Middle East, said: ‘We are very enthusiastic about our partnership with Omet and look forward to long-term mutual success.’
