CS Labels appoints production controller to cope with increased demand for digitally printed flexible packaging

CS Labels has appointed Gareth Spencer as its new production controller in a move to help handle increased demand, particularly for digitally printed flexible packaging.

Gareth Spencer has joined CS Labels from Amcor

Spencer has joined CS Labels from global flexible packaging company Amcor, and has more than 10 years of experience in flexible packaging. His experience covers process improvement, quality management, continuous improvement and technical development. At CS Labels, he will be assisting in efficiency improvement, waste reduction and identifying training needs, as well as supporting the company’s production director Adam James.

CS Labels has recently appointed Charlotte Williams as its in-house quality manager. Spencer will work with Williams in addition to his other responsibilities.

‘I will be applying my 10 years of experience in flexible packaging to the current digital stand-up pouch offering that CS Labels has officially launched this year, which is exciting. Digital print is very dynamic, and CS Labels is already making an impact in the flexible packaging world which of course is traditionally known as flexographic and/or gravure.’

CS Labels continues to report strong growth, including a 22 percent increase for 2014-2015. It has added a second Xeikon CX3 press to increase capacity. CS Labels is the first company in the world to be able to successfully produce a high-end fully functional pouch using Xeikon digital technology, with the work it is doing with Graze having won multiple awards.

CS Labels managing director Simon Smith added: ‘In order for us to remain at the top of our game we have to keep innovating and pushing the boundaries; and that means change, regular improvements, and constant monitoring. We don’t stand still. I’m pleased we have Gareth on board as we enter yet another exciting phase in the CS Labels journey.’
